Nathanial Martinez is an experienced commercial litigation and trial attorney who represents businesses, business owners, and individuals in complex disputes in state and federal courts throughout Texas. Licensed to practice law in 2010, Nathanial has litigated hundreds of cases and has extensive courtroom experience, including dozens of jury and bench trials. He has served as lead trial counsel in dozens of matters and as first-chair counsel in multiple jury trials. His practice also includes appeals and arbitration proceedings.

Nathanial approaches litigation with an understanding that legal disputes are ultimately business problems requiring practical solutions. Although he is an aggressive advocate when circumstances demand it, he recognizes that litigation must serve his clients’ broader financial and business objectives. He emphasizes strategic decision-making, careful evaluation of risks and costs, and achieving results that make sense for his clients—whether through negotiated resolutions or trial.

Nathanial’s practice encompasses a broad range of business and commercial disputes, including breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, business ownership and partnership disputes, unfair competition, tortious interference, civil conspiracy, and misappropriation of trade secrets. He also handles employment litigation, real estate disputes, and construction-related claims, representing both plaintiffs and defendants.

Throughout his career, Nathanial has successfully represented clients in high-stakes litigation involving substantial financial exposure. In one notable trial, he obtained a directed verdict on the second day of trial, defeating claims that exposed his clients to hundreds of thousands of dollars in potential liability. He then successfully pursued his clients’ affirmative claims in the same proceeding, ultimately obtaining a judgment in their favor. The result illustrates his ability to combine effective trial advocacy with a comprehensive litigation strategy.

Nathanial has significant experience representing business owners across a variety of industries, including construction, real estate, and healthcare. He regularly represents general contractors, subcontractors, property owners, and real estate investors in disputes involving contracts, construction defects, payment obligations, mechanic’s liens, and other commercial matters.

A substantial portion of Nathanial’s practice also involves advising and representing healthcare professionals and business owners, particularly dentists, orthodontists, and dental practices throughout Texas. His work in this area includes employment disputes, commercial contracts, business transactions, ownership disputes, and allegations of fraud and other business misconduct.

In addition to his trial and appellate practice, Nathanial has represented clients before state and federal administrative agencies, including the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE), and Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC).

Nathanial has received recognition from Texas Super Lawyers, having been selected to the Rising Stars list annually from 2014 through 2023 and to the Texas Super Lawyers list in 2026.
