Palter Stokley Sims PLLC “Sparks” the bigBang!

November 4, 2014 by Palter Law

The firm was honored to serve as a “Spark Sponsor” for the 5th Annual bigBang! conference, entitled “Children X Poverty X Change,” held on October 30th at Paul Quinn College.  The conference celebrates social innovation in Dallas and the greater North Texas area.   At this year’s event, community leaders such as Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, Task Force on Poverty Co-chair Regina Montoya and executives of the Dallas Foundation and United Way Metropolitan Dallas updated attendees on the important work going on in Dallas, and the need for continued commitment to the improvement of life for those in need, especially young people.  The conference ended with an exciting “Fast Pitch” competition, where attendees voted to award $15,000 to their favorite social innovation pitch.  College freshman Kevin Lee nabbed the prize money for Paul Quinn College with a passionate pitch for a program designed to engage college students in entrepreneurship centered on Paul Quinn’s “We over Me Farm” garden, made out of an unused football field.
