Employment and Contractor Agreements

Whether on behalf of an early-stage company or a mature one, our business lawyers understand all the nuances of agreements between business people, whether they are management, employees, consultants or independent contractors. We know both the benefits and the practical limitations of non-compete agreements and other arrangements customarily entered into by businesses to protect their interests and to properly incentivize and compensate their people.

Commercial Contracts

Business is ultimately about trust, but good contracts substantiate that trust. At PalterLaw, we have abundant experience with commercial contracts of all sorts, including agreements with suppliers and customers, distributor contracts, licenses, and non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements to name but a few. In negotiating these agreements, we pursue the same core objectives we seek in other contractual arrangements: mutual understanding, value for all stakeholders and enforceability when necessary.

Corporate Governance and Fiduciary Duties

A business will not ultimately survive (let alone thrive) without observing good corporate governance and complying with applicable fiduciary duties. Recognizing this, our business lawyers regularly advise clients on matters of governance and duty. Where possible, our advice includes identifying and remediating issues our clients may not readily recognize in the midst of running and growing their businesses.
